Symantec Security Response - Removal Tools Page
Viruses have become increasingly complex and virus infections involve more system elements than ever before. Symantec Security Response has developed tools to automatically conduct what would often amount to extensive and tedious manual removal tasks. If your system has become infected, the tools listed below should aid you in repairing the damage. Symantec also offers online tutorials for manual removal of many threats.

I got this response from BitDefender tech support:
"The disinfection process for this kind of virus (trojan viruses) reside in
deletion. So, all you have to do is to delete the infected files. If the files
are loaded in to memory you have several options:
1. Kill the virus process (the same name as the .exe infected file) and delete it using BitDefender or manually;
OR
2. Reboot in Safe Mode and manually delete the infected files;
OR
3. Reboot in DOS mode (Windows 98 only) and delete the infected files."
