Macromedia publishes a cool online newsletter:
Macromedia - the Edge newsletter
"The Edge is a free publication, published every five to six weeks, that contains original content geared toward informing, enlightening, and inspiring Macromedia customers."
Of course, they use Flash for this. Hmmm.
Flash has its place. We're going to see more and more interactive, animated, Flashy sites. Static text is so-o "turn of the century."
I resent having to install something to be able to read this site. Once that's done, I'm stuck with their columnar layout -- it can't be adjusted and it doesn't quite fit right on my screen. Nor can I select and copy any of the text or images -- or print selectively.
I don't really care for newspaper-style columns of text on web pages. But, if you want to see a site that does it better, using open standards of CSS, see any of the articles linked to the International Herald Tribune.
